History's Most Influential Scientists and Their Earth-Shattering Contributions
Gregor Mendel

Gregor Mendel, an Austrian monk, is known as the father of modern genetics. His experiments with pea plants demonstrated that the inheritance of certain traits follows particular patterns, now referred to as the laws of Mendelian inheritance. Although largely ignored in his lifetime, Mendel's work gained considerable recognition posthumously and forms the basis of modern genetics.
